Spontaneous adventure: Israel’s last-minute travel sites
Whenever I see a Hebrew newspaper, I pretend to read the headlines and then head straight for the last few pages to get a glimpse of all the travel deals to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Budapest, etc. for crazy prices like $200 for 4 days and nights in Istanbul. I know that these last-minute trips are reliable since my friend was lucky enough to travel to Italy through Daka90 . As for convenience… it should be noted that she left the very same day she bought the ticket.
So far, these trips haven’t worked out for me. I just have a really hard time seeing how to juggle spontaneity and responsibility. Has it suddenly become acceptable to give approximately 10 minutes notice before packing and heading off to the Netherlands for 3 nights. Is it possible to take advantage of one of these trips or is this a luxury for the non-working or rich.. which when you think about…
Here’s a list of Israeli services that offer last minute travel deals, packages, and flights. If I’ve missed any, please leave a comment with the link. Note: I think you need an Israeli credit card to use these services. Also, these sites work better in Explorer, like most Israeli websites.
I used issta last year to go to Prague. I went online to find the deals, and then I went to the issta office in Jerusalem. I had a bit more flexibility over the dates because I got to talk to a real live human being (imagine that!), and I got a good price because I quoted the website.

| Posted 12 years, 12 months agoI tried to book a last minute trip through Daka90 but, 30 minutes after I booked they called to tell me they don’t take foreign credit cards. I could do a bank transfer but that takes 1-3 days to process.
OOOOORRRR I can show up at the airport a few hours before the flight with a big wad of cash, head up to their booth on the second floor and book/pay there. I’d be taking my chances that there would be any seats left and may end up going to Berlin instead of Prague for my vay-cay. Ohhhh, true spontaneity. The excitement.
If anyone is brave enough to try this, the number at the Daka90 desk at the airport is 03 979 1763 (the lady I talked to spoke English). You can call and see if they have any seats left before you head down to the airport.
